My Ramadan Podcast

I’m so excited to share my podcast interview with the amazingly talented Sarah Malik alongside Dr Inda Ahmad Zari. She’s written incredible children’s books and you can find her on instagram.

This was such a fun conversation and I’m so glad that Sarah helped to put me at ease. Inda had so many relatable stories to me too, which is incredible because we did the opposite things in terms of migration lol (I moved to Malaysia from Sydney, she moved from Malaysia to different countries).

Eid/Hari Raya is full of big, bittersweet feelings for me and I’m grateful my kids get to share in this joyful celebration.

Ramadan

Ramadan Mubarak!

Selamat Bulan Berpuasa! Wherever you are in the world, I hope that your fasting days and nights are filled with peace, dua and prayer.

My latest SBS Voices pieces is up – My Ramadan memories from four different countries. Thank you, SBS Voices team, especially Candice Chung, for being such supporters of my writing.

I’m still in Ramadan Survival Mode with three small kids subhanAllah, and it comforts me to know that the deeds most beloved to Allah are the obligatory ones. This isn’t the season of my life with long tarawihs at the masjid…that season has passed (for now) and I’m grateful I made the most of that era while it lasted.

These days, I’m content with praying at night with my husband while our kids are asleep. One day, inshaAllah, when they’re older, we can all go to the masjid together.
